Ive updated my flickr multi group sender greasemonkey script

to work with the latest version of firefox and greasmonkey. Many thanks to Ricardo Ferreira, who helped with the code.

Ive also added a new function that automatically saves your group selection each time you click submit, in case you forgot to tick the save group selection box. I also fixed a few bugs in the script ( send to group menu no longer appears beneath flash video, clicking send to group button twice no longer sends you to another page, you can no longer use a blank name for the saved group selection)

Since the greasemonkey extension was updated, a number of the GM scripts that I had written broke. I havent had a chance to get round to fixing any of them till now. Well I’ve just updated FlickrPM so the popup flickr mail function works again.

The lights on the church danced around magically, I should have made a video of it.

The building is called Christ Church, it was built by Nicholas Hawksmoor in 1729, its located in an area known as Spitalfields, which is near to Brick Lane and Liverpool Street Station.

Just discovered i was mentioned in the Flickr Hacks Book, by Jbum. Found this out by doing a search for “steeev” on the google book search page ( http://books.google.com/books?q=steeev&btnG=Search+Books

That page isnt available for preview though the text extract displayed in the search results says “this is the idea behind the Flickr Visual Dictionary, a mobile phone application

I also just checked out the subscriber stats for some of the RSS feeds i created, i found that one of my feeds has over 23,000 subscribers!!!!! i couldnt believe it myself, i guess its quite possible that its a mistake, though it would be really cool if it was true. Hmm, should do some more work on this feed :)

Of course my other claim to fame this year was winning an award at the Yahoo! Hack Day London event, I started writing a blog entry all about it, but havent finished writing the draft yet, maybe one day i will complete it.

I was searching for Banksy’s latest (the double yellow lines daisy) and chanced upon this marvelous house sized mural. Didnt find the Banksy in the end. Will go back another day and get a picture of it.

Shortly after taking this photo i got caught in the heaviest rainstorm i have ever experienced. I quickly ran into a nearby record shop to take cover, and watched as the street started to flood. Apparently other parts of east london got flooded that day too.

One of the photos I took around the Brick Lane area of London. I love the neon colours in this photo. It was taken using the ISO 3200 setting on my Canon Ixus 900Ti camera.

I cant believe it, the message ringtone on my nokia 6680 has stopped working again, also this time, the new message icon doesnt show up either. In order to check if i have new messages i need to open the messaging application each time. This sucks big time. I guess Im going to have to reflash it.

After I flashed the phone the first time, the voicemail number was wiped off the phone, so if i held down the ‘1’ key to dial voicemail it wouldnt work, it instead asked me to enter my voicemail number. I didnt know what it was, but a quick google search turned up the result. On the 3 Network in the UK, the voicemail number is 123 or +44 778 233 3123 in full. I also learnt a cool new trick that should work on most Nokias if not all mobile phones. If you enter the following code into your phone, as if dialling a number: *#67# then press the dial button, you will be able to view your voicemail number. I think this number is stored in the Sim card.

I also learnt that its now possible to unlock Nokia 6680s and various other models of Nokias ( 6630, 6681, 6680, N70, N71, N90, N91 ) that werent previously able to be unlocked. In order to unlock them you need the software and a DKU5 cable, I can download the software easily but I dont have the right cable, in fact Ive got two DKU2 cables. Anyway i can easily get the DKU5 from ebay, but unlocking my phone isnt a high priority right now, fixing the message tone is.

Ive even started a thread about it on the Nokia Support Forum, hopefully someone will be able to help me get it sorted.

Recently I had a problem with my nokia 6680 phone, the message ringtone stopped working altogether, though the calling ringtone worked fine. I decided to try and fix it by updating the firmware through the Nokia Software Updater application. Unfortunately as my phone is on the 3 Network, the latest available firmware revision that you can get is out of date. I found out on the web that there was a newer generic version of the firmware available without all the Three branding and claptrap, though its not possible to load it using the NSU.

Not that is unless you can change the product id code of the phone, which is where the Nemesis Service Suite comes in handy. This free beta version of the program lets you alter the product id code of your phone, which then means you can flash the phone with the latest available firmware.

Anyway the firmware upgrade went smoothly after i had altered the product code id. And after I restored the backup of my data via the Nokia Content Copier and a few reboots, the message tones started working again. Some of the annoying bugs in the phone have been fixed too, so im a happy bunny again :)

My movable type blog installation suddenly died for no apparent reason. I tried reviving it by installing the new MT4 beta over the top of the old install, but to no avail, that wouldnt work either. Though i found out the reason for it was that this host has an individual file size limit of 500k, and one of the crucial files “CMS.pm” is over 600k. Ive got a feeling i might be able to run the file through some sort of compression algorithm, to get the size down, but for now im going to be blogging on wordpress, its not as feature packed as MT but it seems more stable to me so far.
